About us

Sully Sports Football Club was established in 1972 and has a long, proud and successful history. Since our foundation the football club has grown sustainably and community club. We are affiliated to the South Wales Football Association (SWFA). We recently had our 50th anniversary.

The club is at the heart of the community and share facilities with the local Sully rugby, bowls and community groups.

Within the football section we have continued to grow over the years. We now have 35 registered teams with over 450+ players registered from u5s to seniors, over 85 coaches/ officers/helpers’ staff who are all volunteers and provide so much back to the community. Without the great volunteers of the club, we doesn’t survive so a massive thank you for everyone who is involved and to all the supports and parents who continue to support the club.

In 2023 Sully were the 10th biggest amateur club in Wales and 6th in South Wales.

Our Mini and Junior mixed teams are members of the Vale of Glamorgan League. Our Minis section (u6-u11s) play friendly games as per the FAW regulations throughout the year. Our Juniors (U12s-U16s) play competitive league and cup games.

Our Youth Teams (U17-U19s) are members of the South Wales Youth League playing fixtures around South Wales. In 2022/23 the Youth section won their league and got to the last 16 in Wales FAW Cup and we have an excellent pathway for young players to progress either through to the first team or go higher in the pyramid.

Sully has a large and ever-growing girl only section and members of South Wales Women's and Ladies league and have U10, U11s, U12s, U14, and U16 teams. The female game continues to grow massively, and we fully support this and want to continue to grow it further.

In 2023 we become a Gold accredited FAW club and we are looking to become a platinum club in coming seasons.
And finally, our seniors are members of the Alliance League and play in Alliance Championship. The club's long-term ambition is to reach the Welsh league in a sustainable way utilising our excellent youth policy and the management structure that is in place, we feel our ambition can be achieved in the future.

We have five senior football pitches, three mini pitches and a 3G small, sided training facility. We have upgraded our changing rooms to provide both male and female changing facilities in 2022 and developed our pitches and goals as well as upgrade all the footballing equipment across the club. We have a bold vision and development plan for the club and will continue to evolve and improve facilities and services for all and become a hub for the community which we serve.

The club house is shared with other sport sections of the club and used throughout the community and club.

We want to continue to evolve and improve facilities and services for all and become a hub for the community which we serve.

We hope you can support the club grow and develop in the future.
